As I’m sure you’ve probably guessed by now, I absolutely love designing amigurumis! Creating colorful and imaginative new friends is a passion of mine. Coming up with a new idea, drawing it out, writing the pattern, crocheting the prototype, sewing it all together…from beginning to end, I love every step!!
Some of the most common questions I receive are about that final step in the process – sewing all of the pieces together. And I will admit, sometimes it can be frustrating and very time-consuming. But it has to get done!
I’ve asked my friend Courtney to help us learn about sewing all of our pieces together. She’s made so many of my amigurumi!! In this video, Courtney is sewing together Bonnie and Benjamin, the bears from my newest design. Each bear has a bunch of pieces – head with ears and snout, body, 2 arms, and 2 legs. That’s a lot to sew together! Let’s see how Courtney accomplishes this!
When you begin sewing your project together, make sure you have your supplies ready!! Courtney (and me, too) suggests having pins, needles, scissors, and extra stuffing standing by.
