I do, I do!! Especially when it’s my Big Hugs yarn!
A few years ago I was looking for some really soft and squishy yarn to create a new line of patterns with, and that’s how Big Hugs yarn came to be.
This yarn is super soft and super easy to work with. It’s labeled as a Super Bulky*, but it’s not too thick that it makes my hands tired. Stitching and counting isn’t a problem, either!
Big Hugs yarn is 100% polyester, and can be machine washed in the delicate cycle with cold water – or you can hand wash or dry clean it. Lay flat to dry (never put it in the dryer), and reshape your creation as needed when fully dry.
Big Hugs yarn is only available on my website. Each ball of this cozy yarn has 3.5 oz (100g), which is about 131 yds (120m). There are 22 amazing colors in the Big Hugs line of yarn, so there’s something for everyone!
* While this yarn is called a Super Bulky yarn, I think it’s important to note that there is a difference between it and other Super Bulky yarns. A lot of people ask me if this yarn is comparable with something like Bernat Blanket yarn. The answer is…not really. Blanket yarn is quite a bit thicker, bulkier than Big Hugs. You must use a larger hook size due to the fact that it’s not as easy to work with, and therefore you end up using quite a bit more yarn for the same project. Both are made of polyester, but I find the Big Hugs to be smoother and softer – it’s more like velvet!
The yarn on the left is Blanket, the right is Big Hugs.
See the difference? The Blanket yarn isn’t as smooth as the Big Hugs. Both swatches were made with an H (5mm) hook, which is what I recommend for my Big Hugs series of patterns. 10 sc wide by 5 sc rows high. There’s quite a difference in size!
